Classroom tour

We are a month into the school year and I have already learned so much about my kiddos!  Here is a picture tour of how I set up my classroom this year.  I have a pirate theme as our school mascot is a raider.

I bought an area rug from Walmart and made my own stencils so each student would have their own space on the carpet.

This is the back corner of my room.  I had curtains made for my bookshelf so students are distracted by all the resources I have on them.
This is my reward board.  Students come to this board to see how they want to spend the gems they have earned.

This is the back table for working with students. It's divided from the front area with wall dividers.  Generally, I only have one student working with me at the back table and other students are at their desks or working with my assistant at the front of the room.

I have two bookshelves put together in a V with two desks behind them.  Sitting at these desks, I can see everyone in the classroom, even with the wall dividers in the middle of the room.

Front of the room, carpet and desk area.  Near the door is another table we use when working with art.

Back cubby area and one student's independent work station.

So far this set up is working great. It gives me multiple places to work with students and gives them a place to work free from distractions.  I hope everyone is having a great start to their year!
